Ecology, the environment and Fair trade

Urtekram means pure ecology leaving a good taste in your mouth.
We like the thought of you being able to eat our foodstuffs as often as you want without ingesting any artificial colorants, pesticide and chlormequat residue etc.
We also like the idea of you being able to use our body care series without having to worry about any problematic ingredients being absorbed by your skin and disturbing your health.
We give you the real McCoy. Nothing else.

In order to ensure you that this is more than just a claim, we label our products. These labels bear evidence to some very strict regulations applied to both product contents and to those circumstances, under which the animals and people behind the products live and work.
As an example, our body care series have not been tested on animals, and several of our foodstuffs are produced within Fairtrade systems that foster financial security and fair social circumstances in countries far away.

In other words, Urtekram focuses on accountability, meaning that we want to prevent hazardous substances from getting into you, our environment and our climate.
Therefore, we live a very green life here in Mariager, keeping a strict eye on our CO2 account, recycling our kitchen waster as organic compost and getting all our electricity from hydro power stations.
Oh, and we pay out mileage allowance to those staff members, who cycle to work to save fuel.

In short, we believe that a good taste, a healthy lifestyle and a clean conscious is one and the same thing - and we turn this theory into practice.
